"Oval Angle is the alias of Geran Knol, a Dutch multidisciplinary visual artist and musician based in Antwerp, Belgium. His instrumental electronic music is a mellow, playful fusion of timbres characterised by spirited, offbeat sound design and swaying, distorted melodies. Geran's compositional process is akin to a sketch on paper, slowly evolving and mutating as he adds, subtracts and changes elements. His debut LP on Moon Glyph, Figures of Speech, exploits the circular, melodic repetition found in minimalist compositions and avant-pop song forms. Like Geran's visual art, it perfectly captures a childlike wonder and wide-eyed naivety."
