Below is an explanation by the author.

This record was recorded on a 1950s Diapason upright piano in my maternal grandmother's sister's house. The piano has been moved and tuned many times, and now it has arrived in our living room.It was a pre-mass-produced piano with thick plates and a good sound, but it became impossible to tune it without replacing the screws and the deteriorated base. After consulting with the tuner, I decided to tune the entire instrument to match the sound of the strings wound around the screws that are the most loose and cannot be tightened. "As it is"

*Mikiko Yamada: In 1964, she formed the Japanese music group for contemporary Japanese music, and was the first performer to record the biwa on a staff. She also played the shamisen, so I called her "Aunt Pen Pen".Her husband was a shakuhachi player, so she was "Uncle Boo Boo".

When I tuned it in the summer, I forced myself to tune it at 442 kHz, but in the winter I tuned it at 438 kHz.From now on, the pitch of this piano will decrease year by year as the material ages.I plan to play the decaying piano and continue recording music that can only be made at that time.

When the stylus is dropped on the record, sound is produced on the spot, and the sound constantly changes depending on the air, temperature and humidity around the stylus. The sound also affects everything in the life of the person who hears it, affecting the frequency of the person's body and mind. The impact of a sound, once generated, remains forever.

This work was created with the listener in mind to adjust the pitch at their favorite speed according to their mood and frequency at that time. If you speed up the 45 rpm a little, you can hear this aging piano at 440kHz or 442kHz.You can slow it down, 33 rpm early, or slow it down.I really like the stretched sound of recorded piano sounds. When you want to slow down, listen to slow music and try to adjust the pitch of the space around you, the creatures, and your own body and mind. "As You Are"

This work was created with the intention of having the listener adjust the pitch at the desired speed according to the mood and frequency of the listener at that time.
