Burgh // Live Performance Tape

Live sound source cassette of Tokyo post-punk band Burge.Below is a description of the label.

In 2011, Ouchisou and Yamashitashigeki started their musical activities as Hysteric Picnic.
It was renamed Burgh to the EP "Impersonal" (4, Self-Release), which was released after becoming a four-member system including Kikuchi Daisuke (Ba) and Oosumi Kensei (Dr), who made their existence known to the world. Later 2014st album "All about Techno Narcisse" (1, P-Vine).During this period, all the members impose down-picking and full strokes on themselves, while the song is developed at a tempo that is almost uncontrollable and distorted and if one person stumbles, everything will collapse, even though it is a short activity period. It had a great influence on the Japanese post-punk / art punk scene in the 2015's. The activity was terminated so that it disappeared suddenly at the end of 10, but the momentum for re-evaluation is increasing, such as the release of an unreleased sound source collection from Furusato Call And Response Records at the end of 2016.
Klan Aileen, who sponsors Jolt! Recordings, the release source of this work, also co-starred, and member Shibuya was one of the people who continued to send love calls to them, such as buying out recordings. (I am in charge of recording and mixing "Gezel Shaft" and "Dizziness" from the compilation album "Provoke" produced mainly by Deviation and WBSBFK in 1)

They didn't leave that huge, sharp sound on the record, but this is a valuable archaeological source that proves that Burgh as a live band had tremendous strength.A total of 2 songs, 3 minutes, including 7 unreleased songs that should have been recorded on the phantom 19nd album that was never made. 

In 2011, So Ouchi and Shigeki Yamashita started their band named Hysteric Picnic.
The EP "Impersonal" (2014, Self-Release) that released after they became a four piece band with Daisuke Kikuchi (Ba) and Kensei Osumi (Dr), and their first full length "All About Techno Narcissus" (2015, P- Vine) take them to fame. The band's performances during this period, with all members imposing downpicking and fullstroking on themselves, almost uncontrollably distorted guitars, and a tempo where one person stumbling would bring the whole thing crashing down, had a huge impact on the Japanese post-punk / art-punk scene of the 2010's decade, despite their short activity.
They disappeared without a trace after 2016.
But, a collection of unreleased material was released by Call And Response Records at the end of 2020, and the momentum for reassessment is growing.
Klan Aileen, the organizer of Jolt! Recordings, has played with the band many times, and Shibuya was one of the people who kept sending them fervent request, even offer to record. (He recorded and mixed "Gesellshaft" and "Memai" for the 2016 compilation album "Provoke," which was produced by Deviation and WBSBFK.)

Although they did not leave their huge and solid sound image on records, this album is a precious unknown source that proves Burgh had tremendous strength of live performances. The album is 7 songs and 19 minutes long, including 3 unreleased songs that should have been included in the second album that was never made.
