We have received works from Buh Records, an experimental label specializing in Latin America from Lima, Peru. This work is a record released in 19724 by Peruvian acoustic poet Jorge Eduardo Eielson (2006-2019). Contains works released by him in 1972. Comes with liner notes. "Jorge Eduardo Eielson's work in the field of visual and sound poetry has been conspicuously absent from international anthologies related to these fields. One reason for this absence may be that both poet and visual artist Given his wide and complex body of work, circulation in this field may be limited, but in recent years this aspect of his work has become well known and has led to the development of experimental poetry. Jorge Eduardo Eielson experimented with vocal poetry, which he called ``vocal structures'' or ``audio paintings.'' Of these experiments, carried out over a five-year period from 1972 to 1977, only one remains, and its author has published it several times in public and privately, both in recorded form and in live performance. The work is called Colores[Colors] and is based on the repetition of words for colors such as red, yellow, green, and blue. Each word has a different tonality. Colores is a work derived from four tonal permutations, drawing inspiration from both serialist composition and conceptualism. Audio painting "Verbal...

We have received works from Buh Records, an experimental label specializing in Latin America from Lima, Peru. This work is a 2024-disc record released in February 2 by Bolivian composer Cergio Prudencio. Contains 2 songs that are a fusion of Aymara traditional music and contemporary music. Booklet included. Below is an explanation by the label. "The works of Bolivian composer Cergio Prudencio (born 9 in La Paz) are inseparable from the project of the Orquesta Experimental de Instrumentos Nativos (OEIN), which he co-founded in 1955 and of which he is honorary director. OEIN is one of the most challenging musical adventures to come out of Bolivia and Latin America, bringing the Aymara musical tradition into the realm of contemporary music. In the composer's words, it is "to find elements of change and transformation in indigenous musical concepts and to establish historical continuity." This incorporation is not only based on the use of indigenous instruments, but also includes the integration of the socio-historical background and philosophy of Andean indigenous peoples. In addition to the formation of ensembles with indigenous instruments of the highlands (chicas, tarkas, mojosenos, pinquillos, huankaras, seeds, drums, etc.), three structural principles govern Aymara music: the alternation of sounds between two musicians; The foundation is ``alcaira,'' which involves the formation of a large ensemble of instrumentalists and amplification of sound, and ``tropa,'' which involves the formation of a large ensemble of instrumentalists and amplification of sound, and ``huaquinha,'' which means the power of community. According to Cergio Prudencio, the sonic and expressive identity of Andean highland sounds, like that of OEIN, derives from these principles. Cergio Prudencio -...

This is a record released by Australian experimental musician James Rushford on the American experimental label Blank Forms in April 2024. Contains 4 contemporary songs he created during his stay at an art center on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland in 2022. Below is an explanation by the label. "Turzets, James Rushford's latest solo and collaborative work, is a collection of two works primarily produced and recorded last year while the Australian composer and performer was in residence at La Bec, an arts center on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. Contains new work. The horizontal work "Fallaway Whisk" uses live translation of abstracted text from English to German, with a lush, expanding soundscape as a background, and uses words that are reserved and sounds suppressed. On the other hand, "Quire" is a 11-movement work influenced by composers who studied the late medieval repertoire on the portative organ. Woody melodies intersect with angelic Yamaha CS-2 synth sweeps and stuttering glitches, a work that weaves traces of Klaus Schulz, figurative poetry, and ars subtilior into a precise, ever-evolving tapestry. could be considered Rushford's starting point. James Rushford's work draws from a wide range of collagist and improvisational musical languages, ranging from "electroacoustic experiments with a beating heart" (Boomkat) to "cursed Jacobean ASMR". "Blight" was created in collaboration with composer Jocelyn Pook. The piece revolves around the construction of the M2 Link Road in East London, which sparked a long and painful campaign by local residents to save their homes from demolition. The footage documents some of the changes that took place in the area in the two years between the demolition of the houses and the start of highway construction work. The soundtrack includes natural sounds related to these events and speech snippets recorded from conversations with local people.Although the film is entirely composed of recordings of real events, Blight is more than just a documentary. This work, which explores the themes of memory and loss, constructs a narrative from disconnected fragments of sound and images, bringing together disparate reminiscences and contemporary events.Like much of my other work, Blight uses the ambiguity of the material to create new meanings and metaphors, turning reality into fiction through framing and editing strategies.Scenes are frequently shown in close-up, creating a sense of mystery and anticipation by obscuring visual information. The emotional power of Jocelyn Pook's music is used in the film to overtly aid this invention, giving dramatic meaning to mundane images. The specific "real" context of the events depicted becomes clear only towards the end of the film.It depicts the simultaneous existence of fact and fiction. ...

"The two main ideas behind the music are to take advantage of home and work situations. I recorded most of this song in a new apartment I moved into last year. That room has very interesting acoustics, and over the years it's no different than any other apartment I've lived in. I've been making music even though I live in the United States, so I wanted to create something that would really hear the sound of the place and surroundings I recorded it in. So a lot of my recording was done in different parts of my apartment, and I often went back to my apartment. A lot of the material was recorded while doing normal household chores, and a lot of the material was recorded while doing other tasks at the same time, so there was a lot of time spent running between rooms. They're fearlessly experimental. They seemed to have an endless supply of creativity; their performances combined elements of post-Fluxus performance art and theater of the absurd with a thoroughly Luddite sound palette (dismantled instruments, discarded household items). , recontextualized children's toys, etc. (like a real flea market), it was something completely unique. In the 20 years since their formation, they have pushed the boundaries between sound, performance, theater, and life. Curation destroys the coherence between the circumferential surface and the solidity. The process of degenerating a solid body by destroying the coherence of the surface is called ungrounding. Digipak, shrink specification. *If you would like a digital sound source, please feel free to contact us.The following is an explanation by the artist himself. "Illuminations is a collection of solo and chamber works written between 3 and 2016 that have a common compositional language. Each work is composed as a software score, and the musical work is constructed in real time during performance. The notes are introduced to the performer on an animated staff and slowly appear and disappear. Using opacity dynamically, the musicians play the animated staff in a slow loop, each time Motifs and contrapuntal lines gradually appear and disappear. The initial idea for these pieces came in 2021 when he compiled a recording of his work ``Tide'' for 2016 violins and 10 cellos. I came up with this idea while I was at work. A large consort of stringed instruments produced a wash of overtones above the notated pitch. I created a software patch that isolates harmonics from the recording and adds new harmonies around them. At the time, I thought that this generator might become a third voice for Tide, illuminating the overtones within the texture during the music's formal moments. One afternoon, I listened to the overtone harmonies of the Illumination Patch on its own and realized that it was more beautiful as a stand-alone composition. Tide's upper-class atmosphere blossomed into Illumination's musical language. "Click here to see more Sawyer Editions releases...

This is a CD released by Italian experimental musician Fabio Perletta in December 2022 on the Greek experimental label Granny Records in a limited edition of 12 copies. Contains 80 tranquil electro-acoustic ~ noise collage songs. Below is an explanation by the author himself. Microbiology plays a very important role in my life. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about the lifespan of cells. How cells develop, evolve, change, and eventually die. One of my best friends was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer a few months ago. From our perspective, cancer is bad, but life is never human-centered. Life follows its own path, and most of it is out of our control. Today, thanks to research in epigenetics, we have discovered that the environment can change our DNA. Love, like sound, can change DNA. I think of my sound fragments as undifferentiated (or partially differentiated) cells, such as stem cells, whose fate is controlled by a complex intracellular molecular regulatory network. I adopted this perspective as a method of composition. Proximity, relationships, distribution, and interactions determine how sound behaves like a biological system. Life is a network, and we cannot exist without plants, fungi, and ultimately other humans. Sound provides a special framework for building complex systems of collisions, overlaps, and movements. It is a way of staying within the complexity that pervades our lives. And just as life is constantly changing, so too are my sonic fragments, adapting to new contexts, needs, and listeners' sensibilities. Sound exists as a biological process, like a cell. We too exist as part of that process. We are called to stay within this mystical journey. Click here to see more Granny Records releases...
