This album was born out of a time of frustration and concern for all that was happening in the world at that time. All the pieces were recorded live, the result of multiple improvised sound collages, created over many nights, hunched over tapes and pedals. My intention was that it would be a prayer or meditation for such a time, which I paired with scriptures that resonated with me and the music. For me, songs are monuments - things that I make to mark a moment and remind me of a truth. In a similar manner to that album, I began again to amass tape loops and melodies to mix together during live improvised sessions. Australia was hit by one of the worst bushfire seasons in history, exacerbated by climate change. A global pandemic gripped our world. Racism raised its ugly head again in many countries. Nations continued to become more insular and fearful of each other.
