An experiment in composition and form, abscessant plays with ideas surrounding memory, repetition, and change. Its origin, five notes plucked on an acoustic guitar, is warped and mutated into cavernous ambient and drone soundscapes, all cloaked in a fog of static and crackling distortion. Abscessant illustrates the multitude of forms that can spring from a common source, and how elements of similarity can make differences all the more perverse.
