"It is all about the sounds in between. The small snippets of vibrating air that follow one's every step. Sound that go by almost unheard. Rabbit Hole give those fragments a new meaning. Moving from observations of one ordinary man's life to buzzing hallucinations of a Burnt out summer day. One can hear a squeaking door, the static of a cell phone or the mumbling moan of an animal. Sounds to which we can all relate. It's all so clear. But digging deeper between and beyond these tracks one finds that These sounds might have other sources. The compositions of Mattias Gustafsson and his Altar of Flies makes way for that eerie thought. Maybe these sound are something completely else. A rocking boat in the middle of nowhere, waiting to be flooded with water. It might It leaves one with a feeling of lonel. Or that moaning animal might just be the sound of a human in a drastic and extreme situation. iness and awe. And it leaves one with the notion that sound isn't always what you hear. "

The English translation is \"Death Through Museums\", a play on a German book title, and features 18 aural vignettes. Each track has it's own character or two: simple but compelling focuses of very lightly processed field recordings, tape loops and live audio. At times rhythmic and at others, open-ended and expressive. Bells, birds, pans, eggs(?!), and more are sourced for this lively, flowing journey. While most tapework and sound collage leans heavy on larger sound pairings, ambient tone, and contrasting textures, the Concept Horse is intent to focus our attention on crisp, uncrowded samples. We're wandering this hallway of collected audio but the size of each \"picture\" allows us to keep a moderate pace.
