Text by Noumenal Room:

"'Falling'was composed in transit between the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, during which Julius Smack researched locomotion and technology. Inspired by social theory, Julius Smack uses songwriting as a vehicle for investigating the theoretical affect of malaise, indifference, and fear. For Julius Smack, the present velocity of information and travel generates an instability of perception, producing a constant dissociation—the launching point for the conceptual platform for this album. Modernity privileges expansion and development, markedly in the constant erection of skyscrapers, aviation, and “The cloud.” Julius Smack theorizes a concurrent social collapse, where ethics are in a state of free-fall and where information, time, and space are blurred in the form of the constant stream of information known as “the feed.”
