This record was released by Brussels-based electronic composer Billy Bultheel in July 2024 by PAN, Berlin, Germany. The following is a description from the label: "Billy Bultheel's solo debut album is an ambitious distillation of the many composers who influenced him and his unique approach to site-specific composition. A compilation of works created between 7 and 2016, the album powerfully speaks to Bultheel's wide-ranging performance practice and collaborations with cutting-edge visual artists such as Anne Imhof and James Richards. Inspired by industrial music, metal, medieval and baroque polyphony, Bultheel devised a way to present this collection of works side-by-side. The record is divided into two cycles: "Snow Cycle", a collection of Bultheel's electroacoustic works, and "Game Cycle", a collection of his electronic works. The two suites have an unmistakable symmetry. Bultheel's traditional compositions are enhanced by his understanding of electronic production, while his electronic works are shaped by his knowledge of classical and traditional music. "Two Cycles is an album of duality, embodying the duality of Bultheel's role as an ensemble composer and electronic producer..." ---------------------------------------------- 2023" black vinyl. By considering the harmonies between each location she's visited, upsammy has been able to build a unique topology that's an uncanny digital amalgam of her lived experience.
