He writes fiction between the institutional and non-institutional world, and deals with sound between clubs and museums. Her methodology is to construct and break down sonic narratives by arranging and recontextualizing disparate sound sources, from field recordings to fragmented anonymous conversations. She views sound and text as invisible experiences and phenomena, and is interested in the narrative manifestations that emerge when the two are juxtaposed on the same axis. In her series entitled 'Sound Fiction', she explores these manifestations operating within and outside of art spaces. This is the debut CD by Guixine, a techno artist from Paju, South Korea, released in August 2023 on the experimental techno label Psychic Liberation in Berlin, Germany, with a limited edition of 8 copies. "Guixine is a ghost in Korean folklore that haunts the world out of resentment. On Psychic Liberarion's debut album Woodland Fantasies, Guixine combines 15 songs of pressure techno with intricate minimalism. Beguiling with gestures.Woodland Fantasies is a work rooted in a story of antinomy, in which the forest exists as a ``resting place for desires'' for Gwysin, but it is also a stage for erotic male escape. K embarks on layers of sexual viscosity in touch and relationality, transcending the material sexual escapades of group sex in a forest setting into the psycho-spiritual realm of chemical vessels. By negotiating K's anticlimactic post-sex purification with the nymphs and forest characters, K's emptiness elicits a portal from which to release his inner burden. K's catharsis is only the gateway to their frenzied experience, and as K clutches a gay porn magazine in the back of the van, they enter a deeper, more elusive void. We, the listeners, are forced to stand on the precipice over K's fate. On Woodland Fantasies, Guisin offers a long meditation on the potency of pointed rhythms through pressurey clicks and bubbling bass curves. Composed entirely using FM 15 VST, this full-length album feels like a peak Luster Noton album or Seaga's Purification Loops through the lens of Mika Vainio. Recorded during what Anonymous Gwishin recalls as "the worst January 8 blues," the album highlights the isolationist sound makeup of winter, but also has louder, more sociable potential. It's expertly mixed. Guysin's anecdotal forest fantasy takes on a more nimble tone, taking the listener on a nocturnal nature stroll into a night of unprecedented beauty and possibility. Full pressure and full volume, Gwyshin's journey into the thrilling unknown is wrapped up in a psycho-psychedelic erotic journey.
