Below is a commentary by the label.

"Budapest's Alley Catss want m Helux to act as both a new station in their work and a homage to their new age-influenced, sample-heavy albums from the past (2020's compassion & paralysis, 2016's Ȗ, 2021's exophage), and it already feels like a genre in its own right: absurdist ambient. Inspired by the emptiness and silliness of theater sets left standing still, incomplete, with nothing happening, nothing at all, m Helux is an awkward place of bleak humour.

Made by Marte Junkie between late 2023 and early 2024, it's an unpredictable collage of heavy symbolic audio mysticism, '90s sampling, dub influences and fractured R&B vocals, yet peppered with a knowing cheapness that fuses New Age-esque bells and chimes, sometimes cut up to cartoonish levels, at their most ludicrous and wonderful.

Influenced by Klain, Alley Catss's collage and sampling techniques attempt to translate utopian academic visual concepts into sound, dishing out a dose of mockery in the process.

"These seven tracks sway, yet never ring. Alley Catss' unique approach creates beautiful parodies of genre references; myriad genres are molted and reassembled into exquisite carcasses of blissful sounds and voices. This is music that is monstrous, beautiful, and often insane all at the same time."

"Budapest's Alley Catss wants M Helux to serve as both a new station in their work and a homage to the new age-influenced and sample-heavy synthesis of previous albums (such as 2020's "compassion & paralysis", 2016's ℶ, or 2021's "exophage"), and it already feels like a genre unto itself: Absurd Ambient. Inspired by the emptiness and silliness of theatrical sets left empty, devoid of action, still and incomplete, M Helux is an awkward place of bleak humour; poured over and yet frozen.

Produced by Máté Janky over the course of late 2023 through early 2024, this is an unpredictable collage of hefty symbolic audio mysticism, 90s sampling, dub influences, fractured R&B vocals. It's nonetheless interspersed with the knowing cheesiness of new agey bells and chimes, at times cut up to cartoonish levels, melding their most laughable and wonderful connotations.

Influenced by the likes of Klein, Alley Catss' collaging and sampling techniques seek to sonify utopic scholastic visual concepts – poking a dose of fun at them along the way.

These seven tracks shimmer and shake, but never rumble. Alley Cats's generis approach creates a beautiful parody of reference genres. Myriad tropes are desiccated and reworked into an exquisite corpse of blissed out sounds and voices. This is maddening music that's monstrous and pretty, often all at once."
