"Michał asked me to write a little description of this album for the Czaszka bandcamp page, so here goes. This is my second album to feature on Czaszka (thanks Michał). Porta, recorded in 2016, was the result of two half hour experiments with my friend Tyler King's Yamaha Portasound PSS-460 FM keyboard, with just a couple of overdubs on each track. Plié is quite different in that it's a much more deliberate work. I started recording Plié after a fairly traumatic experience last fall that I' m not willing to go into more detail about right now. I tried to use my time at the subterranean CryBaby Studios in Seattle to process what had happened and reckon with it. I was listening to a lot of Ingram Marshall, Tomita, Alvin Curran, Plié, as a title, represented to me the process of bending without breaking, and maybe trying to capture something beautiful / frozen / haunting / ugly w ithin the "getting better" phase. I don't know. Maybe the song "Ache" is what I was after most--periods of bubbling uncertainty, and a long, steady, never-ending lament that drags and drags and drags. This album is a kind of lament, and as with all of my work, I'm tremendously proud of and tremendously embarrassed by what I've made. "

This is a 2024-disc reissue record released by HR Giger's Studiolo aka Spencer Clark, a well-known psychedelic artist from Athens, Greece, in April 4 from Discrepant, a jungle music cave in Porto, Portugal. (Original 2 cassette release) Contains 2014 psychedelic strange beats ~ experimental post-new age ambient songs. DL link included. Below is an explanation by the label. "HR Giger's Studiolo," a giant double-cassette editorial reissue released under the name Typhonian Highlife in 8, features underworld voyager Spencer Clarke's labyrinthine sonic worlds set in a particularly enchanting world. Discover connection points. Completely ignoring linear timelines and trajectories, HR Giger's Studiolo draws inspiration from both the Swiss master's vision and the Cenobite iconography Clark previously explored in Fourth World Magazine's Pinhead in Phantasia. are getting rations. The titles were chosen in a poetic, almost naïve way, the sounds of these creatures led me to believe that they could be divided into different distinct phases of the day. It was then cut, stitched together and reassembled to give shape and restore unity from the fragments, in order to have an album that shows its completeness halfway between the titles and the compositions themselves. Contrary to what it may seem, it is not born from a concept and does not want to be. The titles were chosen in a poetic, almost naïve way, the sounds of these creatures led me to believe that they could be divided into different distinct phases of the day.
