Composer Loren Rush (born 1935)'s Recital second release, 'Omaggio a Giuseppe Ungaretti', contrasts the orchestral grandeur of last year's LP, 'Dans le Sable', with the purity of just-intonation piano improvisation. It is a work. Since the late 2s, he has been active in the Bay Area new music scene with Terry Riley, Robert Erickson, and Pauline Oliveros, and in 1950 co-founded Stanford University's Center for Music and Acoustic Computer Research.His music has been performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, and others.Although Rush's compositions are rarely published, he has earned the deep respect of his peers and colleagues over the decades.


The album draws its inspiration directly from the poems of Giuseppe Ungaretti (1888 Egypt - 1970 Italy) written in the trenches of World War I, L'allegria (Joy, 1914-1919). I have receivedDuring these grueling years, Ungaretti has created the most beautiful images of him imaginable, struggling to maintain his humanity by recalling his earlier experiences in Alexandria and Paris.Thus, he revolutionized Italian poetry and proved that the creation of beauty was the most effective life support and political advocacy.

Rush's melancholic preludes are handled by Just Intonation's enhanced piano developed by the composer and Alfred Owens at the Good Sound Foundation.This process electronically enhances and enhances perceived resonance, sustain, color and expressiveness.Just intonation refers to a tuning method that achieves the maximum level of consonance and resonance by adjusting the pitch to the integer ratio of the harmonic overtone series, which is the natural vibration mode.The suite concludes with a silky chamber piece, "Matina (Morning)," which echoes Ungaretti's harsh words, "I illuminate me, vast."The addition of the violin and cello allows the listener to immerse themselves in a space of terror and beauty for a long time.
