Jeugdbrand, the duo of Belgian Antwerp poet Dennis Tyfus and percussionist Jeroen Stevens, will release their debut record in March 2023.Can this really be called music?Comes with insert and DL code.Below is an explanation by the label. Jeugdbrand is Antwerp's voice (Dennis Tyfus) and beats (Jeroen Stevens).They perform a scintillating drama, a theatrical tragedy, colored with Antwerp's classic anarchic sense of humor.Recorded at Joris Caluwaerts' Finster Studios, a landmark in the Belgian music world. Dennis' work includes pencil drawings of various sizes.In these drawings the writer finds himself in many tragic situations.Like he vomits on the way home after a long night in a bar.It's like making right-wing idiots drink boiling water. Like telling a sweet lie on your Tinder profile.Or like taking out the trash on Sunday evening.That's horrible.These seemingly sealed pencil drawings show a simpler world where there is no cheating.But a little more understanding of what's really going on behind the colorful mask often leaves a bitter aftertaste.As for music, Dennis paints more fragmentary paintings, in contrast to the drawings mentioned above.His recordings and performances often give the impression of stitching together excerpts.Strange sentences and funny statements fly and intersect.Musical symbols are casually thrown on the table.Instead of a clear picture, he gets the feeling that he is looking at a bunch of different graffiti.
