British Acoustic Poet-University Professor Salomé Voegelin,January 2022This is a race cut record released from the label Flaming Pines, which is run by the experimental musician Kate Carr in London, in a limited edition of 60 copies.

Eight people including Rie Nakajima, KMRU, and Claire Rousay participated. DL code included.

The following is a commentary by the writer himself.

"I write scores by myself to talk to humans and more than humans. I use words, go beyond words, do things with things, and listen. That causes exchanges, including ringing. My starting point is private, intimate, quiet, if not silent, and more felt than audible. By speaking from there, the senses act. By expanding to, listening, and ringing, we take an accidental form and meet others and others, hearing and ringing. Thus, I am shared based on mysterious and personal imagination. Start creating a space of turmoil and things that tell your instructions.

In this album, eight artists were invited to such a conversation using a format called text scores.I had them read my words as sound-making instructions and erased them to go beyond their literal demands so that their sound-making could challenge the possibilities of those words and instructions. The artists, on the other hand, pulled the letters and extended their sense of time and space until the letters had meaning as sound. And the produced work produces materialization, not interpretation. Thus, they produce from their hand-held ears what they might hear if the instructions were executed rather than obedient. Artist statement:

"I write scores to get into conversation with human and more than human things, while staying by myself. I use words to trigger an exchange that includes, beyond words, the doing, listening and sounding to and with things. My starting point is private and From there the speaking of words expands the feeling into doing, which as listening and sounding takes a contingent shape that meets that of others and other things, listening and sounding too. Thus on the basis of odd and private imaginations I start to make a shared racket and a space of things that narrate their own instructions.

For this album I used the format of the text-score to invite eight artists into such conversations. making of sounds could challenge those words and the possibility of instruction: crossing them out and going beyond a literal demand. In response, the artists pulled on letters and stretched their sense of time and space, until they mean as sound; and the works produced do not generate interpretations but materialisations: odd things done and conjured in the performance of words rather than their reference. Thus they generate from ears with hands what might sound if instructions are performed rather than obeyed. "
