" COMPILATION THREE roughly marks four years of action for First Terrace. Rather than be retrospective, the tape consists entirely of artists so far absent from the roster.

Bianca Scout opens proceedings with a live recording from a First Terrace event in St Giles Church, Camberwell, when Ben Vince & Jacob Samuel invited her to introduce their album launch by improvising on the little pump organ there.

Artists of some renown are side by side with complete newcomers as we move through field recordings & environmental sounds from several continents, sub-heavy floatation tank ambient, elaborate exercises in experimental composition, lush synthetic choral music, lightly edited sounds of electromagnetic interference, captured through homemade devices, dreamtime minimal techno, the sounds of guitars played with pebbles and accompanying traditional gamelan instruments, and many more definition defying places along the way.

By standing these radically different practices side by side, we reaffirm our belief in an undelimited approach to sound, and set the stage for the next batch of artist releases on the label.

The tape edition is limited to 60 copies, each of which is housed in an embossed, hand stamped & numbered jewellry box, containing a one off monotype print by artist Charlotte Murdoch and a hand typed tracklist. "

They gradually evolved out of that scene, making their way towards the current project with the release of ‘I Close My Mind And Lock It’, two EPs released simultaneously that crystallized the musical elements and techniques loved and sought out by the brothers. 2020 saw not only the release of ‘I Don’t Ever Want To Be Alone’ but also the wonderfully glitched out, breakbeat\/Jungle record ‘World Vision Perfect Harmony’ which was released on\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e Thrill Jockey and on which Zac collaborated with Lee Buford of The Body under the moniker Manslaughter 777.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThroughout ‘What You Say Of Power’ MSC employ a keen ear for the blissful possibilities inherent in noise \u0026amp; junglism. The record moves exhilaratingly through frantic \u0026amp; peaceful moods. ’Snow’, for instance, lures the listener with violin motifs dancing amongst clouds of ambience, while the full blooded breakbeat of ‘Home to God’ interrupts this serenity like the sky tearing open in a storm.
