This is a collaborative record released by LA-based saxophonist Nora Stanley and keyboardist Benny Bock in November 2023 from LA's contemporary jazz label Colorfield Records.

Contains 10 gentle ambient spiritual jazz songs by the two, who have been friends since Berkeley High School and have been making music together for nearly 2 years. DL code included.

"Nora Stanley and Benny Bock's first album as a duoDistance of the Moon is a deep journey into acoustic, electronic, and improvisational territory.The saxophone/keyboard duo, whose friendship dates back to their high school days in Berkeley, California, have been making music together for nearly a decade.Hiking in the Marin Headlands and Mount Tam began a long friendship that grew stronger when they both lived in Ohio and attended Oberlin Conservatory.Road trips across the countryside and weekend excursions through cornfields cemented personal and musical connections.Nora Stanley and Benny Bock have been building for the last four years, even though they are on opposite coasts.

On their debut album, the duo shares a treasure trove of influences from music, literature and film.Their love and connection to the natural landscape of the San Francisco Bay Area is also present throughout the album, referenced in songs such as "Into The Flats" and "Hawk Hill" (the latter a tribute to the late Pharaoh Sanders). ).
