Orb Tapes:

"Bubba Crumrine's third studio release, “Center & Blur,” is anchored in voice, synth, and percussion and threads a line between ambient, noise, and cantor music. Dense instrumentals pair with queer lyrical themes of discovery, protest, and a future, post-gender world.

Writing began ahead of a pre-pandemic tour with Jen Kutler, then completed in lockdown. Guests include Cameron Wisch (Porches, Cende) on drums, Keir Neuringer (Irreversible Entanglements) on tenor sax, and Amy Zuidema on bass clarinet.

During lockdown, Crumrine launched a benefit collaboration EP, “A Pod Apart,” with proceeds going to the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition Mission and whose first track, “Beyond The Pink Rainbow” was picked up for the US Trailer for “Deliver Us.” They also appeared as keynote speaker for Cornell University's “Sounding Out Ithaca” panel and curated three virtual events through Experimental Sound Studio's The Quarantine Concert Series, which received a feature from The Wire.

Since 2014, Bubba Crurmine has performed with the likes of Wendy Eisenburg, Amirtha Kidambi, Chris Corsano, Sarah Hennies, Toby Driver, Fuck The Facts, Cloud Rat, Odonis Odonis, Erica Dawn Lyle, Lucas Brode, and Machine Moon.

Since 2008, they've curated for and founded Ithaca Underground, which “changed the city's music scene” (Ithaca Journal), and even received a nod on Noisey/Vice in 2016."
