"London musician Shek O -aka Matt Scowcroft- studied at Durham University, specializing in electroacoustic composition and sound design. Although he has been producing music for more than a decade, his release for Lapsus marks his first artist album, perhaps surprisingly considering the overriding maturity and precision found in his output.

His debut entitled'Bancha' was produced throughout 2020 and skilfully demonstrates his affinity for improvisation and modular systems. The 10-track album was predominantly created from longer original compositions that have been meticulously warped and modified, resulting in an innovative and unique body of work ..

Although Shek O operates in essentially ambient terrains, the British artist's influences are wide-ranging. His overall sound bucks convention, with'Bancha' intelligent elements of IDM, glitch, deconstructed dub-techno and psychedelic experimental electronica, to form music without complexes or clichés. "
