A record released by Ideologic Organ in February 2023 by Attila Csihar, who is also active as SUNN O))).Includes two sets of drones recorded in Baalbek, Lebanon. Includes 2 page booklet.Below is a commentary by the author himself. “I launched Void Ov Voices in 2, capturing and interfering with the space and time energies of the place, creating ritual music for the place, and only doing live performances. I visited Lebanon for the first time in 16 for the very specific reason of visiting the giant monoliths of Triton and Baalbek, where I was struck by the engineering sophistication of ancient civilizations and the intense fantasy of the whole region. I was fascinated by ancient and prehistoric sites and monoliths for a long time.In the last few decades I have visited many places around the world. I have always felt a very peculiar physical energy in these ancient ruins, which has opened my imagination and mind's eyes with great interest. Moreover, these stone masses are often aligned with astrological events and sacred geometry.Baalbek's Triton is the purest form of pre-Roman technology. It's a testimony to this, and it's special to me because it's a technology that can lift and transport a stone block weighing about 2006 tons (equivalent to 2008 VW Golfs). Even if it was possible, it would be difficult even with the most advanced technology. At Baalbek, there is a huge stone plateau of this size, on which the Romans built the world's largest stone plateau. He built the Temple of Jupiter, which is said to be a Roman architecture of the highest level.I heard that Baalbek was called "City of the Sun" in ancient times. Is it related to the story of "Tower of Babel"?There are many stories and theories about such mystical places. But these stones are just standing there waiting, transcending time and space in history. And it's there until the end...Recording as close as possible to these unique structures has always been an inspiration to me.When I finally got to record on top of the 'Southern Stone' in Baalbek, I fell into a trance-like meditative state.Music is magical on many levels as it goes through all of our bodies, not just our ears.As the years went by, I found out more about Baalbeck. One of Hungary's most important painters, Chontovali Kosztka Tivader (900-900), was also deeply moved in the same places in Lebanon.A closer look at his life reveals that I and his personalities and artistic philosophies have much in common. He was deeply spiritual, but not religious.A pharmacist and scientist, he started painting in middle age because of a transcendental impulse. He gave up his pharmacist career and for the rest of his life focused solely on art and painting to satisfy his soul's desires, and for no other earthly, egotistical reason. He never had an exhibition and never intended to sell his paintings. He became a vegetarian and a social outsider. In his later years, he also wrote highly philosophical writings that challenged the hidden hands behind governments and world leaders.Unfortunately, and typically, it wasn't until decades after his death that his existence was recognized. His paintings were forgotten and nearly sold as truck bed canvases after World War II.But at the last minute of the auction, someone recognized its artistic value, purchased it, and preserved it.He is now considered one of Hungary's most important and influential painters.I sometimes wonder how many valuable works of art have disappeared in Hungary's dark history.Anyway, Zontvaali Kosutka Tivadar and Baalbek have been a great inspiration to me. In 1853, I decided to go again to the same ruins in Baalbek, Lebanon, create a ritual record, and keep the energy for myself forever. For the album jacket artwork, I chose a rare painting called "Sacrificial Stone" by Chontovari. He also painted this surreal painting in Baalbek. To me, he was inspired by the 'Stone of the South', which in his vision became the 'Sacrifice Stone'. Void Ov Voices uses repeated blocks of sound to create a wall of sound.I couldn't imagine my music better than Chontovari in this beautiful painting.I hesitated to release this personal recording, but I am grateful to my friend Stephen O'Malley for his strong inspiration over the years.I was finally able to make it happen. This is a record released by Daniel Teruggi, an experimental musician in Paris, France, from RECOLLECTION GRM in January 2023. Comes with DL code.Below is a commentary by the author himself. From 1 to 1984, my acoustic research focused on processing and fusing four basic materials. Each "element" was gradually connected with the others, crystallizing my subjective perception of its materiality.Over the years, aided by the zeal of a Greek friend who had propelled me into the world of Socrates, what was initially a path of inquiry became a circular, spherical unity, each event representing one of the four substances. At the same time as belonging to the one, it also came to belong to the whole. These four sections vary in length, embodying the different resonances that each 'element' has in my imagination.Their movements are compositionally ordered and range from the inorganicity of the air to the extreme densities of the Earth. At Eterea, the dual nature of air, a space for the propagation of sound and an environment for the moving masses, has shaped the development of the work and its forms.Whether it is the vast expanse of particles as organized movement or the displacement of sound sources in our three-dimensional perception, ethereal air fills space and drives immaterial movements and gestures. Aquatica places the materiality of water in relation to its amazing extremes. An extensive journey unfolds through different phases of reconstructed liquids, from droplets to oceans.Still waters, deadly waters, and raging waters follow each other until the aerial merging of the primordial equilibrium is restored. Then comes Focolaria and the Unstable Fire, the elusive wild wizards who open and decorate the gates to the underworld. There is no atmosphere in the land of Terra, and there is matter before the birth of life. The primordial sound of matter merges and evolves into a purer form.It triggers a movement towards a new balance of power for the ultimate fusion, the final attempt at the birth of life. The sphere is complete and the world is ready for creation...Click here for labels and other works /// Click here to see more Shelter Press / Recollection GRM / Ideologic...

This is a record released by experimental musician Lisa Lerkenfeldt from Melbourne, Australia on the French experimental label Shelter Press in November 2023.Contains 11 experimental neoclassical ambient songs made with field recordings of piano and underground tunnels. *If you would like a digital sound source, please feel free to contact us.The following is an explanation by the label. Halos of Perception will be released on November 6, 2023, along with a hyperreal film in collaboration with Chinese-Malaysian-Australian video artist Tristan Jalleh. Piano, cello, and tape loop arrangements drawn from Lerkenfeldt's fieldwork and electroacoustic practice are lost in a patchwork of introspective musique concrète, instrumental compositions, and surreal cinema. Illuminating the history of the room and the basement. The second LP, released by Shelter Press, spotlights an underground network that questions reality, virtuality, and perception through oral traditions, experimental AV compositions, and diary-like vignettes. ing.A halo of perception ripples on a black temporary lake.In total darkness, all five senses become clear.Under the light of my flashlight, I see white spiders weaving their webs in the wet glitter.Transportation becomes a tactile instrument, a 11km tunnel to where I am.When we speak, it echoes for 3 seconds. You tell me about 2.Under moist soil, every moment is lengthened.Even walls have voices.I have a sweat charm around my neck.”For Piano, Cello and Tape Loop: Just as Lisa introduced me to this piece, I would like to share her experience with this piece, ``HALOS OF PERPECTION.'' Lisa and I took a walk near South Yarra station to talk about this piece.Moving almost seamlessly from a world of leisurewear, endless alternative milks and blaring neon lights to a waterside parkland full of sound and life, a few people climbing Burnley's bouldering wall, butterflies hanging in the hot air, I saw many plants that I wanted to know the names of.Overhead, cars rumbled incessantly like animals as we talked about hidden ecosystems, imaginary spaces, and networks of care. This work, which began with a chance encounter with an original member of the cave expedition, explores the world that exists outside of our perception.By the river, Lisa looks through a selection of officeworks printouts of tunnels, revealing strange textures, tunnels leading to the abyss, streams flowing underground. The light is sparse and delicate, reflected in the flickering and flickering of Lisa's piano piece. As we walked, we noticed that infrastructure is often designed to keep people out.Doors cut into the fence and cut wires indicate an active and ongoing rebellion against it.We talked about how a friend of her cave clan used to go down to this painted room and read in solitude by candlelight.Sound exists underground, surrounded by a hollow cement tunnel. How people held shows underground and what rules they had for safety (don't explore after the rain, don't go alone). This kind of warmth and absorption of other people's experiences is also present in Lisa's work. ...

This is a record released by American electronic writer Ben Vida in May 2023 on French experimental label Shelter Press. Co-written by the Yarn/Wire ensemble and vocalist Nina Dante, it uses voice, piano and percussion as its main sources.Unlike his previous works, this album contains 5 songs with a strong acoustic ambient color. Comes with DL code.Below is an explanation by the label. "Ben Vida's music has so far explored the resonance of text outside of electronic music, but here, in collaboration with the Yarn/Wire quartet and vocalist Nina Dante, the voice and the words it inhabits become the time of the song. Back on axis, the combination of subdued melodies and heightened atmosphere gives this music a familiar feel, with a soft feel, like it was made in a band: piano, percussion and voice. The simultaneous efforts of the four butlers create a structure that seems to float in mid-air.The pace of the five works is fast and slow, but never overtakes or distorts the words. You can find the story in the words being sung, if you want to.But there are also unfamiliar dimensions. There are so many threads, so many timelines. One story, or a thousand stories, or a collection of scraps...a complete yet raw language, a language that can be translated and a language that can't be translated, singers who fuse with their breath, questions and answers, both sides of the conflict, Conflicts and dualities, such as the sense of being here or there, are drawn into one emotion and become plural with the emotion. We're negotiating.Musical cues add tension when needed. The five pieces that make up The beat my head hit are the four vocal and electronic pieces that Vida did at BAM in Brooklyn in 5. A record released by Canadian sound artist Joshua Bonnetta in November 2022 from French experimental label Shelter Press.Includes two deep listening field recording collage tracks. Comes with a 11-page booklet, an essay by Erika Balsom, a postcard, and a viewing code for the video work "The Two Sights."Below is an explanation by the label.Bonetta uses film, photography, and recordings to engage in intimate, generative dialogue with one another.Photography shows the proximity and urgency of sound, sound shows the need for moving images, and film harnesses the eyeball to propel the sonic realm forward. The elements that make up his work, whether film, record, or photography, are both autonomous and interrelated. - Artists and objects act as subjective lenses, exploring the nature of human experience and the diverse and potential psychological realities of inherited histories, cultures, places and self-connections.It is a reactive practice that emerges from encounters with places and situations, and seeks to bring order to the chaotic abstraction that amazes the mind and leads to legends and myths.Bonetta's works are not in the abstract and "pure" tone state of experimental music "free from individual tastes and memories (psychology)" pursued by Concrete and John Cage, but by-products of sound collage. There is, however, a deep sympathy with Luc Ferrari's concept of 'anecdotal music', capable of explaining and preserving the social and autobiographical contexts of the materials and recordings and their meaning dimensions.Rather than forcing stereotypes about artists, listeners are encouraged to construct their own stories. This is two audio compositions Bonetta composed from field recordings made in Barra, Bernelei, North Uist, Harris and Lewis in the Outer Hebrides in 2-60. The same is true for Strangers.Drawing on Bonetta's fascination with sound as a primary means of investigating places and people, Innse...

A 7CD BOX set by Akos Rozmann, an experimental musician from Budapest, Hungary.Below is a description of the label. Ákos Rózmann's Mass consists of 1989 electroacoustic works produced by the composer's studio and EMS in Stockholm between 2004 and 12.Like most of Rosman's compositions, Mass is a lengthy work of about seven hours.Rosman's Mass can be described as a giant fresco of personal observations of the first part of the Catholic Mass, "Killy" and "Gloria."A highly subjective view of the Mass text freezes the image of "Tropez" in Rosman's own words, the Swedish, Hungarian, and Latin meditations for a particular word and its association in the Mass text. It is emphasized by that. Some passages have nothing to do with the Mass sentence.Gloria I's organ song VI (also subtitled Silver and Dance Nocturne) is a kind of lamentation based on the phrase "Natten gråter" (night is crying). The interlude following Gloria I is composed of coffee cup collisions and empty chatter of bureaucratic musicians, which are often seen in concert halls in Sweden, and the composer's unique humor can be felt. ..The overall formal structure of a mass is complex, with the various parts acting simultaneously as independent songs and as part of a small group within the overall structure of the song. Some independent songs are played under the name of organ songs. For example, the three songs contained in the first Gloria part of the Mass form another independent piece called Triptykon, which premiered in 7 as an independent piece. In the first half of the Mass, the "positive power" expressed by the words of the Mass is expressed by various challenging sounds such as derogatory laughter, growls, gep, nauseating choking sounds, and vomiting sounds. The battle of "negative power" is unfolded.First, the negative force drags the positive force into a "black hole" or pocket. Then the positive power comes back and dominates the rest of Gloria. This formal narrative, according to an interview with the composer, expresses the nuances of this central confrontation of the Mass from a less dual and more complex perspective. "In the general sense, everything in the world seems to consist of the notion of positive or negative, but in Triptych (the first three songs in the Gloria songbook) it's not that simple. Different forces are different from each other. Although in conflict, the interrelationships are more complex than those of good and evil. "The most prominent sources of the work are the organ, the Hungarian cheetah, and the human voice.Throughout the song, a vocal group from a church in a village in Corsica sings Latin Mass in solo and chorus. In addition, Scholastic Gregoriana Holmier, conducted by Viveca Selvatius, German Benedictine monks, and Thomas Hammer participate in certain ceremonial protagonists. Born in Budapest, Hungary in 3, Akos Rosman studied composition at the Bartok Conservatory and the Liszt Conservatory. He went to Stockholm on a scholarship in 1996, studied composition under Ingvar Lidholm at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and settled in Sweden. He was a longtime organist at the Catholic Cathedral in Stockholm. He met electroacoustic music early on, giving a new direction to his composition. With the exception of the first few songs, Rosman composed exclusively electroacoustic music, often favoring monumental forms, usually with organ and human voices as the most important sources, and a complex full of symbols. It uses a penetrating musical language. As a composer, he reluctantly lived a secluded life and demonstrated great originality without compromise.Rosman's music is often based on ethical or religious (Catholic or Buddhist) grounds for the fundamental question of existence, for example, the giant suite "The Image of Dreams and Death" previously released by the Idealogic Organ. And "3 stations" raises such a question. "Click here to see more Shelter Press ...

The 7CD BOX set by Akos Rozmann, an experimental musician in Budapest, Hungary, is back again.Below is a commentary by Mark Harwood.Akos Rosman (1939-2005) was born in Budapest and studied organ and composition at the Liszt Conservatory. He studied composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm from 1971 to 1974 and has been an organist of the Catholic Cathedral in Stockholm since 1978.Throughout his life, he devoted himself to musique concrète, creating the largest and most fruitful work in this alchemical genre of all musical genres. In the early 80's he built an electroacoustic studio in the basement of the Catholic Cathedral, while continuing to work at EMS (Elektronmusikstudion Sweden), which produced his early masterpieces.Rosman's unwavering commitment to music creation often shuts himself up in a windowless studio and works all night to get the results he wants. He only considered perfect expression of his vision and did not seek the approval of his peers or the satisfaction of the audience. This combination of vision, passion and stubbornness has created the most unique catalog in the field of music concrete. He was commissioned by the Hungarian composer Microche Maros to create a five-minute piece for piano and voice.Rosman received this offer with the intention of writing a tape piece consisting of a recording of Microche's wife and soprano singer Ilona Maros and his own prepared piano experiment. The elements recorded here became the material for "5 Stations".This work jumped out of the short time of 12 minutes at the beginning, and 5 years later, it landed as a spiritual journey of more than 20 and a half hours. This composition process is unique among Rosman's works due to the 6-year gap from the early stages to the completion of the final work. The first stage, created between 18 and 1978, consists of a quest for traditional musique concrète techniques such as speeding up, slowing down, cutting and splicing tape. The last four stations, produced between 1980 and 1998, incorporate digital technology and improvise a small section of the 2001 original recording on an effects processor with a sampler keyboard.Despite these gaps and the different techniques developed during each production period, the monumental results are complete and staggering as a whole.Rosman has a mysterious talent to bring out the world of flexible sound from the original piano and voice recording, within the limits of the sound source. The result is a dynamic vortex of sound, making it one of the most daring, challenging and spectacular works of Musique Concrète in the 4th century.Property Room Parts I and II begin with the vast landscape of Sturm und Dran. The original materials of the piano and voice have been disassembled and reconstructed as a means of evoking an aggressive, different-world atmosphere.
