"With the second part of his Galama project, whose first part was released in December 2021, Aleksandar Grum aka Vakat strings together tracks with subtlety, like a DJ set with a delightful rise in power, with its moments of restraint and its explosive drops.

Galama Part. 2 invites us to move our bodies on a dancefloor with hypnotic loops, taking our auditory senses hostage to release its repetitive rhythms and its synthetic loops ending up forming heady melodies with trance-like power.

Vakat delivers a compact album, working the production with care, refining its tracks in a case of radical minimalism, inhabited by moving effects with metronomic tact.

We are impressed by the density of Galama Part. 2, darker and more coherent than his previous opus, leaving aside the luminous drifts to dive with delight into the depths of a powerful and addictive dark techno. Enjoyable. "

In its Lo-fi physiognomy we can appreciate that it preserves the balance between the primary process and its later treatment. Lamento Férreo is a completely different cut from the previous one, its nature is electrifying, with several tones full of\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003e\u003cem\u003e harmonics that first modulate discreetly and as a single body, and then hatch freely as autonomous, each one manoeuvring on its own while an intimidating discourse sounds. Mother closes side A with a deep and thick atmosphere, with a latent rhythm that increases the mystery of its aura and with a throbbing voice that claims Mother.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eÓxido Ferroso opens side B with Fe, a track in which Nictofilia sonically describes iron as a resistant and corrosive chemical element, therefore, their way of interpreting it couldn’t be more accurate in developing a musical landscape lacking in brightness, with a multitude of corroded metallic textures that intermingle in a radioactive context and not suitable for the subsistence of any organism. This is a release full of ambivalence. Walking between hard and velvet, he treads these two opposites with a light hand and ingenuity evident in the sonic nuance he is known for.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eIn his own words: ‘The idea behind Dead Memories was to strip everything back and work with only a few select machines. To challenge myself and see how far I could stretch these classic machines. After all, this is what the pioneers of early electronic music had to work with. In many cases, there was a drum\u003cspan class=\"bcTruncateMore\"\u003e machine, a synthesizer, a mixer, a recording device, and a couple of effects units, and maybe one compressor. They didn’t have the luxury of large studios full of gear, or endless collections of plugins, software, and samples. To me, a lot of the most exciting electronic music was written with these restrictions. That’s not to say that incredible tracks haven’t been made without these restrictions, but for me, this is what keeps me the most creative.’\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOn the A side of the release, Dead Memories is joined by one of his longtime influences and pioneering producer Tobias. who provides his own take on things with his remix of ‘Zen 88’\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe remix is a journey all unto itself.
