"'Send / Return' was formed through the mutual admiration and friendship of Wisconsin-based Wavefiler (Steve Zydek) and Vermont-based Go Outside (Andrew Shaffer). They found each other on Instagram posting snippets of plucky, tape-saturated, meandering melodies and Through a series of communications back and forth, they quickly became friends and decided they would have a go at collaborating on an album as “audio penpals”.

'Send / Return' was written one track at a time; not starting a new track until the other completed the previous track to be used as inspiration for the next track. With this approach, the album is like collaborative storytelling and maintains a certain cohesiveness .

The hope is that the listener will find as much joy in following the story as experienced in putting it together."
