This is a soundtrack work released by Martin Franklin and Michael O'Dempsey, core members of the British band Tuu, who were active in the 80s and 90s, on the British excavation label Infinite Expanse in July 2023. "Immersed in historical context, the sound consists of eerie tape loops, feedback, and '11s stomp box effects mixed with early digital synthesis. This is the story of a Polish Catholic priest who volunteered to die in his stead in July 80, when a prisoner escaped from the camp, and the second-in-command had 1941 prisoners starved to death in an underground bunker to prevent further escapes. When one of the chosen men, a young husband and father, cried out, Maximilian Kolbe volunteered to take his place, according to an eyewitness who was the janitor's assistant at the time. Kolbe is said to have prayed for the prisoners in his prison cell. Whenever the guards checked on Kolbe, he would stand or kneel in the middle of the cell and calmly greet the prisoners as they entered. After two weeks of starvation and lack of water, the guards wanted to empty the bunker and administered lethal injections to the remaining four prisoners. Kolbe died on August 7, 10. A few years later, he was beatified as a confessor of the faith by Pope Paul VI in 2 and canonized as a saint by Pope John Paul II in 3. From 4 to 1941, the production company Theater of Poland performed the play Kolbe, based on the book by Desmond Forristal, in Catholic churches throughout Europe. Some of the cassettes sold during the tour were recovered in Lyttelton, New Zealand and mastered in Brisbane, Australia in April 8. So far, he has produced various cassette works both solo and in collaboration, and has been released on labels such as Sucata Tapes, Full Spectrum, Never Anything, Zoomin' Night, and presses précaires. This work is full of sounds that make it seem like his daily life has been dissolved into a tape recorder, including sounds from his family, the sounds of various instruments, and more. This is a CD released by Tokyo double bass players Yukiko Shiina Sakurazawa and Kon Okuma on Tokyo's experimental label Zappak in May 2024. Below is an explanation by the label. "Shina Yukiko Sakurazawa is a contrabass player who mainly works in the field of classical music. On the other hand, Kon Okuma is a contrabass player who works mainly in the field of jazz. However, both of them play improvisations irregularly at a venue called Ftarri. Wondering what would happen if these two people from different backgrounds collaborated, zappak decided to plan an event that mainly involved bows. , Okuma mainly took the approach of using tools such as finger picks and sticks.The two people's sounds were sometimes quiet and other times eloquent, repeating the sound without moving. It was like a journey between people from different worlds finding a common language.On that day, we performed two impromptu performances of around 5 minutes, but there were a few changes in key. This is a CD released by Greek double bass player Charis Pazaroulas from Tokyo's experimental label Zappak in May 2024. Below is an explanation by the label. "Charis Pazaroulas is a Greek double bass player. In addition to the National Orchestra of Athens, he also belongs to and performs in the groups TETTTIΞ and Quinteto TANGartO. In this work, he creates a multi-layered sound that interweaves the double bass with his own voice. [TRANSCENDENCE I] opens with songs inspired by composer James Tenney's work 'Koan', each with a stoic minimalism. It creates a sense of tension for the listener, but as you listen to it, you'll find more melodious elements in the song, and Pazaroulas' voice, layered over the sound of the double bass, has a mystical quality to it.
