Kazuya Matsumoto's 2014-disc third album, which took 2022 years to produce from 9 to 2., an album with the theme of the sound of ice, paired with the 1st "Water Shape".

Along with the sounds caused by frozen lakes and drift ice, improvisational one-shot recordings were made using objects that were not originally musical instruments, and various devices were used to work on the environment itself. Based on playing and working with things, disc 1 uses a hydrophone and is based on playing and working with things that were happening under the ice.

Overwhelming scale blockbuster that has continued to search for the ideal sound over the years, facing the unpredictable changes of nature.These recordings, which have reached a stage that can only be described as impermanent days, are masterpieces that contain the mysteries woven by nature in a dynamic and delicate way, like a mass of the artist's own soul. The CD comes with a 32-page color booklet of ice and nature shot by Kazuya Matsumoto himself during the recording.

"The 3rd album "Mujo" (meaning "transience" in Japanese) by the Japanese sound artist Kazuya Matsumoto.

The album was made from 2014 to 2022. It is an album of improvisation and recording simultaneously, using non-instrument objects along with the sounds that occur from a frosted lake and drifting ice, and recordings made by affecting the environment itself.

This album is comprised of 2 discs. Disc 1 features performing and interaction with sounds that occurs above the ice. Disc 2 features performing and interaction with sounds that occurs below the ice using hydrophones.

It is an album opposed to his first album "Mizu No Katachi (Shape of Water)" confronting the harsh and ever changing environment and he recalls those recording days as "transience", also expressing his feeling towards the never ending explorations.

The recording captures the dynamic and delicate sounds of the ice and nature as well as his soul put into the 9 years. Includes 32 pages full color booklet with photography of the ice and nature taken by Matsumoto at the time of the recordings."

"Musician, sound artist, drummer.
With the percussionist background, Matsumoto uses his experience through playing and listening to environmental sounds, using non instrumental objects such as objects, nature, body and devices for various sound expressions. to explore deep listening improvisation expressions.

Previously he has released 3 albums "Mizu No Katachi (2015)", "OchiruChiruMichiru (2017)" and “Mujo (2022)” from the renown SPEKK label. films, visual works, plays and commercial facilities. He also tours throughout Japan for performances including tour “Listen to the sound of people” tour which is aimed to just meet acquainted people without doing any performances within the COVID-19 situation, space exhibitions and sound installations, site-specific exhibitions (residing and using the sound of that space). He also participates in the performance group Busstrio lead by Yuichiro Konno. Ashi No Geijutsu Genya Festival held in Shiretoko Peninsula from 2021, always pursuing expressions based on sounds."
