" Warlord is the latest full-length album from Kjostad, the follow up to last year's Extinctionist released on Chondritic Sound. This is the evolution of Kjostad's approach in every aspect, an attempt to distill 7 years of development into the project's finest work yet. The noise clatters, clangs, and grinds across six tracks that investigate a violent past while anticipating an even darker future. Warlord sounds like shallow graves on the forest floor; like cold air on a cloudless night; like thousands of years of geological cruelty distilled into brief moments. The album builds to a climax that is either hopeful or bleak, depending on the individual listener's experience. Warlord is a soundtrack to world's end, and to world's beginning. "

Throughout, they have injected a frantic intensity into their music that is as addictive as it is unrelenting. \"Trash Staging\" could not be more perfectly calibrated to what I love most about this band, here consisting of John Wiese and Charlie Mumma. The record takes the \"grind\" and the \"noise\" of this project and pushes both to the limit. The A-Side, which plays at 45rpm, unleashes a noisy grindcore assault, the drums blending with the electronics into a massive wall of sound. Feedback, blast beats, and screeching vocals pummel the listener for 5 perfect minutes. This is Sissy Spacek at their most extreme, sure to leave you out of breath. On the B-Side, which plays at 33rpm, the noisy tendencies of this project are taken to their logical conclusion, as they blast the listener with grappling electronics for nearly 20 minutes. Well-deserved comparisons to Pain Jerk and Incapacitants may give you an idea of the sort of noise perfection to be found here. While working as a stand alone release, Mouth Music can also be considered a burly, fully in-the-red coda to the Sound Poetry by Other Means CD issued earlier this year by adhuman. Originally intended as a not particularly subtle homage to such vocal-based, proto-noise classics as Ashley's \"Wolfman\" or Chopin's \"Vibrespace\", we are left, through the spirited marriage of experimentation and incompetence, with something closer to an early Coquette tape left to bake in the sun. All sources are of an oral nature, processed solely through primitive analog means.
