Reece Thomas, head of the British noise label Vanity Pill Tapes, released a limited edition of 2024 cassettes in January 1 on the American LA experimental/dance label Jungle Gym. Contains 50 dreamy ambient to ambient drone songs created as self-care for her own autism and gender identity. DL code included. Below is an explanation by the author himself. "It's an album I recorded in 6 and was originally created just for me. Despite a more optimistic sound palette than my other works, 'Faces In The Rise' comes at a very tumultuous time in my life. I had not yet begun to understand my autism, and I was deeply insecure about its existence.My struggle with gender, which was only known to me at the time, was brought into full focus. It was starting to take a toll on my health, and I felt extremely isolated and disconnected from reality. In the place, I found myself relaxing by watching the tides repeat, absorbing all the sounds, movements, and sensations, and ultimately reconnecting with myself in a way I had never experienced before.
