"HR Giger's Studiolo," a giant double-cassette editorial reissue released under the name Typhonian Highlife in 2014, features underworld voyager Spencer Clarke's labyrinthine sonic worlds set in a particularly enchanting world. Discover connection points. Completely ignoring linear timelines and trajectories, HR Giger's Studiolo draws inspiration from both the Swiss master's vision and the Cenobite iconography Clark previously explored in Fourth World Magazine's Pinhead in Phantasia. are getting rations. The picture of the Cenobite on the CD head that adorns the jacket makes this connection even more obvious.

The two-and-a-half hour long trip in the tape version is here neatly edited into a wax container. The first two volumes of HR Giger's Studiolo are among Clark's most mysterious recordings. A baroque odyssey through an enclosed maze of alien voices, distorted sound effects, strange keyboards, and a quasi-orchestral sense of space and dynamics, HR Giger's Studiolo is a hallucination unlike anything before or since. The CD Head Cenobite picture adorning the cover makes the connection more than apparent.

A spreading, two and half hour excursion on the tape version, here properly edited down to the wax container, the first two volumes of 'HR Giger's Studiolo' are some of Clark's most mystifying recordings. A baroque odyssey through an hermetic maze of alien voices , warping sound effects, oneiric keyboards and a quasi-orchestral sense of space and dynamics, 'HR Giger's Studiolo' feels like an hallucinatory fever dream still unlike everything else, either from before or after.
