"It feels like this? Does it look holy? My neck stiffens." Her reply: "Yes, it looks like this. What do you mean by holy? Religious? "No, more like that." You're trying to look into the distance. Now stop, the light will hit your face better.'' *Click, click, click.
He noticed her nails. Not polished. It's natural. It's even somewhat rugged, as if something has worn her fingers slightly. What else was this hand holding besides the camera? What made the ends of her nails run down?
I thought it was weird to look straight into the camera. The photographer closed his left eye, the one not looking at the lens. Then opened her eyes, she raised her face and looked around her, then closed her eyes again, raised her face, closed, looked up and very quickly closed her eyes. Everything looked professional. Maybe she's calculating the light and making sure it's close to perfect. ``For a moment, a thought crossed her mind: ``What does this photo look like?'' She felt liberated, thinking that it didn't matter.
"What's that song?" he asked. "Wait a minute, Ol' Dirty Bastard?" she replied. ``Oh yeah, but do you have a sample?'' ``Hey, can you look up again? No, further down.'''
New Directions: ``Look out the window and turn left.'' ``My left or yours?'' ``I always try to think from the model's direction.'' What a professional! This is a good shot. Should I be concerned about the quality of my photos? No, I don't want to worry about it. His thoughts raced. What kind of article will it be? Since it's a big newspaper, I wonder if everyone will read it. Someone might drink coffee and eat a stroopwafel. I wonder if the waffle should sit on the mug for a while so it gets hot and the syrup melts a little. That way you can make it slimy and bend the cookie.
She broke his train of thought mid-way. ``Now turn to the right, but to the left, and look up a little, but don't turn your face to the right.'' ``Hmm, like this? Just like how you do Pilates.'' [Are you doing Pilates? "Yes, sometimes. It's difficult. Have you ever done it?" "No," she said. ``I don't like group sports,'' she says, ``but with Pilates, you can get into your own mind and lose yourself in your private thoughts.''
"What do you think about in Pilates?" she asked. "Well, I'm mostly thinking about which side is left or right."
