Danish ambient jazz trio Mesmer will be signed to the country's experimental label in November 2023.This is the debut CD released by Arbitrary.

Contains 11 post-new age ambient jazz songs. Includes DL code and risograph print map and text.

Below is a commentary by the label.

"This album is a series of (deconstructed) live recordings from three live concerts. The sounds on this album were inspired by a field trip to the outskirts of Copenhagen. Born from sound research and creative outbursts, I am intrigued by the aural landscapes of places where nature and culture meet and challenge each other.

By listening to field recordings,MESMER has come to interpret the sonic mood, musicality and unique energy of these regions. This created the melodies, harmonies, and rhythmic structures that, along with field recordings, paved the way for this album.

MESMER is made up of three musicians and composers: Emil Jensen, Victor Dibroe, and Anders Philipsen, who have been creating music together in various groups for the past 3 years. MESMER is fascinated by how sound (and its absence) affects us humans, and how different natural and cultural environments create different musical scenarios.

We hope you enjoy this album and dive into listening to music wherever you are, welcoming the sounds that already exist in your environment. "

"arbitrary presents Terrain Vague – the debut album of Danish group MESMER.

The album is a series of (deconstructed) live-recordings taken from three live concerts. The sounds on this record are taken from two years' worth of sound research and creative outbursts with inspiration from field trips to the outskirts of Copenhagen. Intrigued by the audit landscapes of places where nature and culture meet and challenge each other.

Listening to the field-recordings led MESMER to interpret the moods, musical qualities, and inherent energy of the sounds from these areas. Thus, creating melodies, harmonies and rhythmical structures that, together with the field recordings, paved the way for this album.

MESMER consists of the three musicians & composers Emil Jensen, Victor Dybbroe and Anders Filipsen, who have been creating music together over the last 15 years in various groups. MESMER is fascinated by how sound (and its absence) influences us as people and how the different natural and cultural environments create different musical scenarios.

We hope you enjoy this album and encourage you to listen and dive into the music wherever you are, welcoming the sounds that are already present in your environment."
