" DJONDO (john•doe) is a mixed media project by Josh Cinquemani. Atmospheric soundscapes and abstract visuals wrapped in science fiction. In this story you are the main character and the music and visuals are translations of your thoughts as you travel the galaxy. The The project explores the intersection of ambient music, generative art and storytelling to create immersive media environments.

Liminoid Drift is the sound of your thoughts as your body is being teleported.It's a soundtrack for the liminal space between the real and ethereal.Immersive soundscapes and subtle textures create a sonic playground for the imagination.Time becomes immaterial as a fraction of a second Expands into a 45-minute metaphysical excursion. Each of the eight tracks describes a different phase of the journey.

First, your body passes through the portal and you dissociate from physical sensations, the mind is submerged into the ethereal. You're immediately overcome with a feeling of timeless uncertainty. Fear creeps in as you search for patterns in the glitches that surround you. The fear fades as you find yourself suspended in a glittering nexus point of possible paths. the ring pulls you through. A feeling of tranquility overcomes you as your mind twists through a turnpike of shimmering colors. The movement suddenly stops and you're suspended in a sea of static memories and disembodied feelings. mind reintegrates with the body, physical sensations return and the memories of what just happened start slipping away like a dream. You step through the portal again. Only a second has passed. "

My coworker said it was McCraven's \"Bitches Brew\" and went on about how Universal Beings had been inspired by the Miles Davis record, particularly producer Teo Macero's post-session editing work.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eI was really intrigued. I thought I knew Bitches Brew but I had no idea there were all these tape cuts everywhere and even some actual tape loops. Seven songs built around layering modal improvisations on guitar, lap steel, keyboards, and kalimba, recorded at home from summer 2022 through winter 2023. The initial idea for most of the songs was a minimal sonic palette, either based around a drone or loops. Melodic elements were layered on top with the intent of keeping the music spacious and simple, with a feeling of calm and safety.
