Conceived as a celebration of outsider artists by Angus Andrew (Liars), Essential Tremors - Sydney was a three-day festival comprised of six distinct sessions of experimental music, sound art and ruthless noise.

Featuring performances by YL Hooi, Shoeb Ahmad, Chunyin, Clare Cooper, Del Lumanta, ∑GG√E|N, Sallvage, Wytchings and Cindy Chen."

Statement by festival organizer and artist Angus Andrew:

“Working as an experimental musician in Australia or anywhere is a pretty daunting path. It's an inherently difficult practice to develop because it is not about hooks or prowess or melodies and sing-alongs - none of those things people normally associate with 'music'. So they won't be asked to play at your local pub but these artists are our most brave and visionary. They question boundaries of form and tradition, challenging listeners to find meaning in the abstract. I've conceived 'Essential Tremors' as a celebration of those artists who doggedly persevere in developing their passion without the acknowledgment often lent to more graspable creators”
