"Full Spectrum Records announces a special project by Andrew Weathers. Weathers will release his first LP under his own name, 'A Cardinal With a Sign of Blood'.

Made while Weathers grappled with the passing of his father and aunt, 'A Cardinal With a Sign of Blood' is a universal yet deeply intimate breath of introspection.The work exists as a kaleidoscope of spiritual detritus, with various recordings from Andrew Weathers' extended family forming the backbone of its composition.

Answering machine messages, bizarre ¼ inch tapes my father made as a child [fragments of clarinet rehearsals, recorded dinner parties, eyewitness accounts of UFO visits], on a ranch in Elas County, Texas. An interview with my grandfather, the music from my parents' wedding, contemporary field recordings taken at relevant locations, and many other rare odd aural wafts through the album's seven tracks.

These recordings are often subjected to advanced processing techniques such as Auto-Tune, Vocoder and Harmonizer to create the core musical textures and motifs.And traditional musical elements of Weathers' electric pianos, guitars, horns, percussion and electronics were built around this dustbin of remembrance, harmonizing with the ghosts of bygone families.

"This album is about losing access to memory," explains Weathers. "This album is an attempt to get into conversations with people I've never really met...reflecting a deep restlessness and a sense of belonging that I feel deeply uneasy about. There is. "

Constructed while Weathers was grappling with the passing of both his father and aunt, 'A Cardinal With a Sign of Blood' gives breath to a strain of introspection that is both universal and deeply intimate. The work exists as a kaleidoscope of psychic detritus, with Various recordings sourced from members of Weathers' extended family providing its compositional backbone.

Answering machine messages, odd ¼” tapes that his father made as a child [snippets of clarinet rehearsals, recorded dinner parties, eye witness accounts of UFO visitations], interviews with his grandfather made on his ranch in Erath County, TX, music from his parents' wedding, contemporary field recordings made at relevant locations, and so many other precious aural oddities drift throughout the album's seven tracks.

In many cases, these recordings were subjected to extended processing techniques, including auto-tune, vocoders, and harmonizers, to generate core musical textures and motifsThe more traditional musical elements – Weathers' electric piano, guitars, horns, percussion, and electronics – were then built around this dustbox of memory, in harmonic resonance with ghosts of family passed.
