Hive Mind is proud to present Colours of the Night, the final studio recording of the deeply hypnotic Gnawa by the late great Maalem Mahmoud Gani.

The recording will be released on 2017 September 9 for the first time outside of Morocco and will be released as a double LP.This release is licensed directly from Gania's family and supported by everyone involved in the original recording. Colors of the Night will be Gania's first record release.

Maalem Mahmoud Gani is one of Morocco's most famous Gnawa musicians.Gnawa is a musical and spiritual tradition that originated in sub-Saharan Africa and has persisted for centuries as a subculture of Moroccan society.The roots of the blues lie in its hypnotic rhythms.
