"Parisian producer Berzingue is on his way to a becoming key producer in the burgeoning French electronic music scene. After the release of his first EP Quitter Panameon Pont Neuf Records in 2022, it was only a matter of time before he made a welcome return to the label. Thirteen months later, the Frenchman comes full circle with the release of his second solo EP Architectures on March 3rd.

“Panorama” lays the foundation for the EP, building through various euphoric synth layers and shimmering, robotic vocal recordings. “There's a kind of happy melancholy to this track,” explains Berzingue, as softened chords hover above a groove-fuelled bassline.

“Delhi” continues along a similarly exuberant trajectory, with kick thicks and melodic acid part adding an inherent danceability to the four-and-a-half-minute piece. Steel pan drums contribute an oriental element, acting “as an invitation to travel, like the track “Quitter Paname” from my first EP.”

“One” takes on a more breakbeat-esque feel, as staggered percussion comes to the fore and repeating female vocals take us deep into heads down, hands up territory. It acts as the EP's first single, due for release on 20thJanuary. Berzingue describes it best: “I wanted to explore a more breaky universe compared to what I usually compose, while keeping a certain deep house touch on the melodic and vocal.”

“Mausolée” comes next, the penultimate track and an out-and-out dancefloor number. Over to the man himself: “This one is clearly a tribute to artists like Kerri Chandler, Jovonn or Demuir. I really wanted to compose a track specifically for the club, one with musical flare and something I would consider a peak-time banger.”

Finally, “Night Cruise”brings proceedings to a close. Deep and tranquil, it represents a “deliberately purified club vibe with a soulful approach, like a mix between DJ Steaw and the jazzy side of Moodymann”."

Artist statement by Berzingue:

"My work as an architect is intrinsically linked to the work I do in the studio. There are many parallels between these two fields, from conceptualisation, to structure, to material. Like architecture, music allows me to explore different genres and formats, while remaining true to my own signature.”
