"In the 1990s, video games were certainly fun, but they were generally for guilty nerds who got bored easily."Wipeout," released in 1995, was a lightning-fast game. It was a razor-sharp, futuristic racing game that helped launch the PlayStation in Europe and North America. It looked and sounded mature and cool, the kind of game you'd want hanging in your living room instead of hiding under your bed. Key to this was the fact that it unashamedly borrowed from the club experience and electronic music, placing it at the heart of the forward-thinking culture of the mid-'90s. It quickly became a phenomenon.

wipE'out' draws heavily on the bright colors and exciting geometric shapes of early 90s rave and club flyers, and was created by Sheffield agency The Designers Republic, known for its warp work. He created the visuals, packaging, and manuals for the company, creating a sensational impression.

wipeE'out' also sounded like a new rave dream. The European version of the game featured music by the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Leftfield, and Orbital, a fashionable game synch that was almost unheard of at the time. By this point, he was already a veteran of the video game world, having composed music for Amiga titles such as Lemmings and Shadow of the Beast 2.
