Artist bio via Sleepers Records

"Bernard Szajner is a French composer, musical theorist, and visual artist. Born in Grenoble France in 1944, he is considered a pioneer of synthesizers and electronic music.

He began as a lighting designer for artists such as The Who and Gong. In the 1970's he invented a lighting display and musical user interface now known as the laser harp (later popularized by musician Jean-Michel Jarre), which went on to become an industry standard for musical artists all over the world.

Szajner has been open about his reluctance to continue working in the music industry. As an artistic choice, he prefers to avoid listening to music entirely, claiming avoiding trends gives him a creative advantage. He continues to work in digital and visual arts."
