A limited edition of 2024 cassettes released by American post-new age artist Bobby Jewell in February 2 from CA's ambient label KATUKTU COLLECTIVE.

Contains 6 post-new age ambient songs using flutes, singing bowls, and field recordings. Out of print.

 The following is a commentary by the writer himself.

"It's common in ambient and new age music to evoke images of the natural world, such as the ocean, vast landscapes, and the outdoors. I wanted to follow a similar path with this release for Katuktu Collective. The title itself is a reference to Robert Fripp and Brian Eno's signature song, ``Wind on Water.''The music here also includes flutes, singing bowls, and field recordings from the Ayrshire coast. Its essence is water.

However, in the midst of the emergency of climate change, simply referencing nature without such consideration feels empty as a gesture. The artwork for Wind & Water is taken from a 1970 Earth Day protest poster created by Japanese artist Yukihisa Isobe, which is now in the public domain. This decades-old protest movement shows how long we have known about the damage humans are inflicting on the planet, and unfortunately, it has also led to deadly increases in global temperatures and ecological damage. It reflects the lack of meaningful climate action by the international community to stop disasters.

The cassette tape is engraved with the text, "We must listen," a quote from indigenous Brazilian climate activist Tsai Sului. "You have to listen to the stars, the moon, the wind, the animals, the trees. You have to listen to the voice of the earth," she says, and her message is clear. No.""

"In ambient and new age music it's common to evoke imagery of the natural world: oceans, expansive landscapes, and the outdoors. And in this release for Katuktu Collective I wanted to tread a similar path, the title itself a nod to Robert Fripp & Brian Eno's seminal track "Wind on Water". But also as the music assembled here is directly taken from types of wind and water, namely flutes, singing bowls, and field recordings of the Ayrshire coast.

Yet in the context of the climate emergency, just referencing nature without that reflection feels empty as a gesture. The cover itself for Wind & Water is taken from Japanese artist Yukihisa Isobe's poster for the first Earth Day protest from 1970, now part of the public domain. The decades-old protest showing how long we have known about the damage being done to the planet by people, and unfortunately holding a mirror up to the lack fatal of any meaningful climate action by the international community to stave off global temperature rises and ecological disaster.

The cassette tapes themselves are inscribed with the text 'We must listen', quoted from indigenous Brazilian climate activist Txai Surui in a stark reminder of systematic and urgent change needed: 'We must listen to the stars, the moon, the wind, the animals , and the trees. We must listen to the Earth. She is speaking and her message is clear: we have no time to waste.'"
