"Titi Bakorta was on the verge of death. A Congolese multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Kinshasa fell off a boat while crossing the mighty Congo River en route to Uganda. Bakorta, who could not swim, was saved by a friend. , was dragged to the nearest city, Kisangani, where he unexpectedly met local singer-dancer Papparas, who soon formed a band together and traveled across continents, settling in Tanzania, South Sudan and Dubai, where they lived in the legendary Souks. Appearing before lovable Congolese vocalist General Defao, who opened for bands Grand Zeiko Wawa, Chock Stars and Big Stars, the now Kampala-based Bacorta put their own spin on the pop and folk sounds of . .
